360iDev – help a college get some Macs
Speaker Serban Porumbescu will be teaching an iPhone Developer course at UC Davis, starting just before 360|iDev (Yeah two weeks). Problem is the school is doing budget cuts and well, there’s no macs. Kinda hard to develop for the iPhone without Macs right? There’s a Mac lab of course, but that’s hardly the same, and [...]
360iDev – USB Drive Scavenger hunt
If we make you run around, you’re getting some goodies out of it.
Right now (remember I said the list would grow, we’ll work on adding more good stuff) you’ll get a promo code for the following 4 apps Dapple, Flower Garden, geoDefense Swarm, Up There (iTunes links). Thanks to our friends at App Treasures!
We’ve also got a free pass to the next 360|iDev conference!
We’ll include all of 360|iDev San Jose’s content in case you missed that event.
More to be announced soon!
360idev – Time for a Road Trip!
Therefore, we’d like to give a shout out to iPhone developers living out in Salt Lake City (UT), Casper (WY), Alburquerque (NM) and Wichita (KS) and Kansas City (MO). Of course, the Boulderites, Springers and Junctioners from CO are also welcomed. (Not to mention people who want to fly from further).
However, for those of you that do take up the challenge of a Road Trip, we promise you a great time after you arrive. There will be enough content to fry your brain and help you forget about being cooped up with x number developers in a car. We’ll also have food and beverage to warm the heart and the spirit. (You know you love that description from my creative writing side!)
360iDev – Live Music Tuesday Night
So there’s these 3 guys I know, all musically talented, all developers. What do you get in that perfect storm of talent? The Compilers of course! Tuesday night, before we get into Full on Rock Band mode! The compilers will play a set to get everyone going! Beer, some grub, live music, and a ton [...]
360iDev – got Plans wednesday night? (30th)
We wrote her back and agreed to let her volunteer around the conference. Before you open up a new email, we’ve accepted 2 people to help out, which is 2 more than we usually accept, and we’re not accepting more, we would if we could, but we just can’t our margins aren’t high enough on each ticket to give away 20 or so to those who can’t afford it.
Back to the story, the only night Ali isn’t free is Wednesday night (which is ok, we normally have no official activities on Wed. night) because her band is playing at a local venue in Denver, just north of the conference.
So now, we have an official/unofficial outing for Wednesday night. We’re going to trek (It’s walkable, but not short) to Larimer Lounge to see Choke the Word perform!
Ali sent us a few MP3′s so ya’ll can see what they sound like. If you dig it, print out this sheet of tickets. They get points for every ticket that comes in and if they get 50 they get more bookings, help ‘em out. It’ll be fun!
360iDev – iPhone 101 Hands On Training Sunday
We’re really excited to be able to offer a 101 Hands on course. Education is important and while we love that our topics trend towards the advanced, we want to make sure those with less iPhone development experience can attend the conference and still come away with a great feeling of learning.
We don’t charge for our Sunday training (Have you checked the schedule lately?) because we think there’s no reason to. We want as many of our attendees to join us Sunday as possible to increase their knowledge and skill set. Plus there’s no reason 1 day pre-Conference training should be an extra fee.
Apress is the Official Sponsor of 360|iDev
Having an official show sponsor is a new thing for us. It’s something that we’ll have to investigate and grow, much like everything we do in relation to the shows. The most important thing for us though is making sure that the official sponsor is a great fit for our attendees.
We’ll be honest. The concept/idea wasn’t ours. We’ve been chatting with the folks at Apress for the past couple of weeks in an attempt to expand their participation at the event. From editors to marketing folks, everyone we’ve chatted with has been awesome!. It’s therefore with great excitement that we announce them as the first Official Sponsor of 360|iDev. It’s a relationship that we hope will continue to grow and evolve as the show does.
360Idev – Awesome stuff to announce on Tuesday
Tom and I just got off a conference call with a great company that wants to be way more involved in 360|iDev. That means cool stuff going on that the conference! We’ll be announcing it all on Tuesday, but it’s pretty awesome. We’re really excited about the potential this sponsor brings to the conference! Stay [...]
360idev – The Speakers – Nathan Eror
Core Animation plays an integral role in the iPhone user interface and is responsible for much of its intuitiveness. Careful use of animation can make even an average app a joy to use. In this session you will learn how to effectively apply the features of Core Animation in your own apps. After a brief introduction to the principles behind Core Animation, you will learn how it is used in UIKit. Then, we will dig into the meat of Core Animation and how to use it effectively. Through numerous code examples, you will learn how to tame some of the complexities of the Core Animation API. By the end of this session, you will be comfortable with Core Animation, and your apps will run more smoothly and be more visually appealing.
360idev – JQTouch
David Kaneda mentioned his new release of JQTouch for mobile platforms, so I wanted to make sure everyone knows and takes a look.
“A jQuery plugin for mobile web development on the iPhone, Android, Palm Pre, and other forward-thinking devices.”
