360iDev – checking out venues in Denver

Posted on | April 23, 2009 | 4 Comments

I got a tour of the Sheraton down town earlier this week, and wow, that place is gonna be awesome! It used to be the Adams Mark, but after $100 mil, it’s nothing remotely close to what it used to be.

There’s gonna be a techy lounge in the lobby with printers, and computers, it’s gonna be nice.

The new guest rooms are very nice! I never stayed at the Adams Mark, but the Sheraton is now on my list when out of towners need a place to stay.

It’s located right on the 16th St Mall, across from a starbucks, connected to a cool irish bar.

It’s one of two finalist locations for 360|iDev in September. I’m really excited to get a place selected.

Once we’ve got the lcoation and date locked down we’ll open the call for papers. We’re curious if you guys think it makes sense to do the call for papers after WWDC or before/during. What do you think?

so – it's not IN denver, but i'd also check out the Omni Interlocken (if you haven't already). We threw a DIDW there once and it was great, and there's a damn good chance that we're about to move both Glue and Defrag there (only 10mins from boulder)…..

Ah, interesting. We're big fans of being in metro areas. What's making you move out of town? Even though we love folks to stay and hang with us, we like them to have some options too if they like, especially a starbucks, LOL

Being walkable was definitely a plus for Defrag for me.

I'm in favor of a call for papers after WWDC as a lot of uncertainty about what can and cannot be discussed will hopefully be eliminated. Of course it is anybody's guess as to when the NDA on OS 3.0 will be lifted but there is a much better chance after WWDC than before.

Isn't everything across from a Starbucks? :-) I vote for downtown, though DTC is fine, Light Rail access is important for me and maybe others.
